The History Museum at the Castle presently has an exhibit of photographs called “Progressive Appleton: Through the Lens of W.D. Schlafer”
An explanation on their website says…
“Through a collection of 3,000 photographs, amateur photographer W.D. Schlafer captured this rapidly changing environment during the Progressive Era in the Fox Cities.”
The progressive era being 1890 thru 1920.
